About Boothbay Harbor ME (courtesy of Wikipedia)

Boothbay Harbor is a town in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. The population was 2,334 at the 2000 census.

Boothbay Harbor is also a tourist attraction during the summer months. Beautiful views of the ocean and scenic sunsets are some reasons as to why Boothbay is a popular tourist destination.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 23.9 km² (9.2 mi²). 14.9 km² (5.8 mi²) of it is land and 9.0 km² (3.5 mi²) of it (37.49%) is water.

It is a famous tourist attraction along the coast of Maine and is known for its scenic views and sunsets. It is mostly popular in Summer and Fall, due to the fact that during the winter the town shuts off the water to many of the outlying houses in the region owned solely as summer homes. The downtown area is famous for its small and diverse range of shops, ranging from esoteric boutiques, to art galleries, to headshops and witchcraft stores. Another classic trademark of Boothbay was Brud, who had been selling hotdogs in the middle of the town from World War II until his death in February, 2006.
